What is summer without free outdoor music events combined with picnics? Peninsula Symphonic Winds is performing back-to-back concerts featuring the music of classic cartoons (Flintstones, Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny, etc.), modern cartoons (Family Guy, The Simpsons, etc.), and anime (Pokemon, My Neighbor Totoro). The first concert will be at Los Angeles Harbor College (1111 Figueroa Place, Wilmington) on Saturday, July 6 @ 5:00pm between the NEA building and library. This will be in celebration of the colleges 75th anniversary. The second concert is in the courtyard at Palos Verde High School (600 Cloyden Rd, PV Estates) on Sunday, July 7 @ 5:00pm. It is sponsored by the Lunada Bay Home Owners Association. Both concerts are free and open to the public and outside so DO bring your folding chairs, picnics set-up, and your entire family because this concert is going to be awesome! Featuring guest conductor Dr. Dan Keller.
