From YMCA to HOME: The Adaptive Reuse of Harbor House Tour. On November 16, 2024, at San Pedro’s historic Harbor House, the Los Angeles Conservancy will host a special tour and panel discussion to kick off our new multi-year campaign—HOME! HOME stands for Housing, Opportunity, Mobility, and Equity. Our HOME campaign will showcase new ideas and strategies for preservation to meet the needs of Los Angeles. And we’re starting with the stunning adaptive reuse of the Harbor House in San Pedro! From YMCA to army hotel to apartment living, this beautiful Spanish Colonial Revival landmark demonstrates how historic buildings can be repurposed to serve the community.
