April 2025 ArtLab - Recovery of Materials - Collagraph Printing

Come join Angels Gate Cultural Center and the Marine Mammal Care Center for an environmentally aware workshop with artist teacher Julie Greenberg! 

To promote environmental awareness and celebrate Earth Month, we will create an abstract or visual story print depicting marine life and oceanic landscapes.Teaching Artist Julie Greenberg will bring awareness that in our current age of “everything is deliverable,” many packing materials can be upcycled into creative projects. This workshop encourages (but does not require) participants of all ages to bring bubble wrap or cardboard from deliverables that normally would be thrown out or put into recycling bin.

Para promover la conciencia medioambiental y celebrar el Mes de la Tierra, crearemos un cuento abstracto o visual que represente la vida marina y los paisajes oceánicos. La artista Julie Greenberg concienciará a los participantes de que, en nuestra era actual en la que «todo es entregable», muchos materiales de embalaje pueden convertirse en proyectos creativos. En este taller se anima (aunque no es obligatorio) a los participantes de todas las edades a que traigan plástico de burbujas o cartón de objetos que normalmente se tirarían a la basura o al contenedor de reciclaje.
