Shakespeare by the Sea's Twelfth Night
For audiences seeking quality, family entertainment, Shakespeare by the Sea's free performances can't be beat. Pack a picnic, a blanket, and a beach chair, gather loved ones, and settle in under the stars for a night of classic entertainment. The tales are timeless, the admission ticketless, and the experience priceless
Love, gender roles and class collide in Shakespeare’s timeless tale of Viola, separated from her twin brother Sebastian, in a shipwreck. Viola washes up on the shore of Illyria, and, in an astute survival plan, she decides to present herself as a page. Now known as Caesario, she is employed by Duke Orsino, who sends her to woo the lady Olivia. When Olivia falls in love with Caesario, Viola finds herself in the middle of a love triangle. Hilarious hijinks ensue when Olivia’s uncle Sir Toby, his mistress Maria, and friend Sir Andrew prank Olivia’s pompous Steward, Malvolio. If music be the food of love, play on! Directed by Patrick Vest.
